Tze Lin’s areas of practice encompass mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, take-overs, foreign investments, corporate restructuring and general corporate advisory work.

She has advised on high-profile take-overs and privatisations in Malaysia and has been involved in domestic and cross border transactions across a broad spectrum of industries such as manufacturing, retail, FinTech, energy and power, education and healthcare.

In The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Tze Lin has been endorsed by clients and peers for being a “commercial, savvy and experienced M&A lawyer”. Tze Lin graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) degree from the University of Manchester in 2009. She was admitted as a Barrister with Lincoln's Inn in 2010, and an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2011.

  • Advised Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (“KLK”) on the acquisition of 494,865,786 ordinary shares in IJM Plantations Berhad (“IJMP”), representing 56.20% equity interest in IJMP from IJM Corporation Berhad for a total cash consideration of RM1,534.08 million, the resultant mandatory general offer to acquire all the remaining shares in IJMP not already held by KLK and the delisting of IJMP from the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
  • Advised Jacobs Douwe Egberts B.V. on the MYR1.47 billion pre-conditional voluntary conditional general offer and the conditional voluntary take-over offer for OldTown Berhad, together with the compulsory acquisition of the shares in OldTown Berhad held by the minority shareholders (Best Privatisation Deal by The Edge Markets 2018).
  • Advised Razer Inc., a leading global lifestyle brand for gamers and a Hong Kong listed company, on its acquisition of the entire equity interest in MOL Global, Inc. by way of a statutory merger pursuant to the Companies Law (Revised) of the Cayman Islands resulting in MOL Global, Inc. becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Razer Inc.
