Myanmar DICA issues standard criteria for provision of education services further to opening of sector to foreign investment

The Myanmar Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (“DICA”) has issued “The Standard Criteria for Education Services” (“Standard Criteria”), a list of information that must be provided by those applying to invest in education services. The information to be submitted includes the curriculum to be taught, educational background of management, administrative and teaching staff, and a recommendation from the relevant ministry depending on the type of private school to be opened.
The Standard Criteria is issued further to the issuance of Notification 7/2018 on 20 April 2018 by the Myanmar Investment Commission which opened the education services sector in Myanmar to foreign investment.
