Allen & Gledhill Partner Dr Stanley Lai, SC contributed the 2026 update to the Practical Law practice note on Intellectual Property Assignments and Transfers (Singapore). The practice note discusses the legal requirements for the assignment or transfer of the main intellectual property (“IP”) rights in Singapore. The practice note forms part of a global suite of country-specific resources helping in-house counsel and private practice lawyers to understand the formalities for a valid and enforceable IP assignment in Singapore. It discusses partial assignments, accrued claims for past infringement, future IP rights, and transfers by operation of law.
