Jing Shin’s areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign investments, private equity and general corporate matters. She advises corporate clients, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions.

Her experience spans multiple industries, including financial services, manufacturing, energy, education, healthcare and technology.

Jing Shin was awarded a Public Service Department of Malaysia (JPA) Scholarship to pursue her tertiary education at Monash University, Australia, where she graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) degree.

She joined the Firm as a Pupil in 2015 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2016. In 2019, she was seconded to Allen & Gledhill LLP, Singapore.

Work Highlights

  • Advised FWD Group on the initial acquisition of 49% and the subsequent acquisition of 21% of the issued share capital of FWD Takaful Berhad, a licensed takaful operator. FWD became the majority shareholder of FWD Takaful Berhad after the acquisitions.
  • Advised NTT DATA Japan Corporation on the acquisition of GHL Systems Berhad and its subsequent delisting from the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
  • Advised a global asset management company on the divestment of interest in several solar photovoltaic energy projects with a total capacity of 19 MWac.
  • Advised Primabaguz Foods Sdn. Bhd., an indirect subsidiary of Johnsonville, on its acquisition of 100% of the issued share capital of Gourmessa Sdn. Bhd., its warehouse and cold storage facilities and two parcels of land, from multiple sellers.
