Rahmat Lim & Partners wins the IFN Restructuring Deal of the Year for Vantris Energy
Rahmat Lim & Partners is pleased to announce that the Firm has been awarded Restructuring Deal of the Year at the recent Islamic Finance News (IFN) Law Deal of the Year Awards 2025 for its role in the Vantris Energy Berhad (formerly Sapura Energy Berhad) restructuring.
The Firm’s team, led by Managing Partner Azman bin Othman Luk, advised the Vantris Group on its comprehensive debt restructuring. The exercise featured a RM7.55 billion Islamic financing component, structured through a combination of convertible securities and Sukuk, as part of a broader RM12 billion composite scheme of arrangement involving 23 group entities.
Given the scale of the debt restructuring and the number of domestic and foreign stakeholders involved, this remains one of the most complex distressed restructurings in Malaysia to date.
