RM1.8 billion takeover of Bintulu Port by Sarawak Government from Federal Government
Advised the Sarawak State Financial Secretary on the Sarawak Government’s RM1.8 billion takeover of the Bintulu Port from the Federal Government. Bintulu Port is one of Malaysia’s most strategically important port assets. It is East Malaysia’s largest container port and the nation’s sole liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) export gateway. It is also noted as being one of the largest LNG export terminals in the world, and a key import and export gateway for Sarawak and the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) region.
