New strata title rules for Kuala Lumpur in force on 1 January 2020

The Strata Titles (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Rules 2019 (“Rules”), gazetted in October 2019, came into effect on 1 January 2020. The Strata Titles (Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur) Rules 2015 was revoked on the same day.
The Rules relate applications for the classification of buildings, certificates of share unit formula, collection of rent arrears and the fees payable for various applications and actions under the Rules and the Strata Titles Act 1985.
