Pei Lin’s principal area of practice is Intellectual Property (IP) and is a Singapore Registered Patent Attorney. She leads a team of patent professionals that drafts and prosecutes patent applications with local and foreign patent offices. Pei Lin graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B. (Hons) degree in 1996 and joined Allen & Gledhill after being called to the Singapore Bar in 1997. She also holds the Federation Internationale des Conseils en Propriete Industrielle (FICPI) South East Asia Patent Drafting certification. Specialising in IP protection, portfolio and rights management, she has extensive experience in preparation and review of IP documentation as well as managing the patents, trademarks and designs portfolio for clients worldwide. Her clients include local/overseas institutes of higher learning and research institutes, government agencies, multinational corporations, global news and entertainment corporations, hotel groups as well as local/foreign banks.  

Pei Lin is consistently ranked as a leading individual for her expertise in several legal publications, including Chambers Asia-Pacific, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Who’s Who Legal Patents, World Trademark Review 1000 as well as IAM Patent 1000. She was also recognised as one of the top 250 women in IP globally in 2021 by Managing IP. Chambers Asia-Pacific notes that Pei Lin attracts praise from clients who highlighted that she is “highly experienced” and is “one of the most efficient lawyers around.” In addition, she “is complimented by clients for her affable personality, with one saying:She is very personable, easy to talk to and advises us accordingly’”, “handles patent portfolios for an impressive roster of multinational corporations” and “is well regarded for her work in this arena particularly with regard to the registration and maintenance of trade marks”. Pei Lin serves as the President of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys (ASPA) and the Singapore chapter of FICPI. She is also a member of the Examination Board of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) Patent Agent Qualifying Examinations and sits in the Master of IP and Innovation Management Programme Advisory Committee at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Pei Lin also actively participates in committee work of international IP organisations, including International Trademark Association (INTA), Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and FICPI.
