Myanmar Directorate of Investment and Company Administration issues draft Companies Regulations for public consultation

On 7 May 2018, the Myanmar Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (“DICA”) released a draft version of the Myanmar Companies (Electronic Registry System and Miscellaneous Matters) Regulations 2018 (“draft Regulations”) for public consultation. It is expected that the finalised draft Regulations will come into force together with the Companies Law on 1 August 2018. The draft Regulations state that the Registrar will establish and maintain an electronic registry system and that all registry transactions under the Companies Law will be carried out using this system. It is also stated that existing companies must re-register on the electronic registration system. The consultation closed on 31 May 2018.
