Following the economic downturn resulting from the global COVID-19 outbreak and the imposition of strict containment measures during the Movement Control Order period, the Malaysian Government has introduced various economic stimulus packages intended to alleviate the financial hardship faced by individuals and corporations, in order to cushion the impact of the pandemic on the Malaysian economy. The announcements on the stimulus packages were made by the Prime Minister on 27 March 2020 and 6 April 2020 respectively.
