Bursa Malaysia launches programme to enhance growth and performance of public listed companies

On 2 March 2022, Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) launched the Public Listed Companies Transformation Programme. The programme will run through to 2025 and aims to steer all public listed companies (“PLCs”) towards accelerating their growth strategies and improving performance. In addition to enhancing PLCs’ positioning and attractiveness, the programme will also serve as a catalyst to elevate the market’s competitiveness vis-à-vis other exchanges in the region.

Core to the PLC Transformation Programme is the development of five digital guidebooks, all of which will be issued in 2022. The first digital guidebook, titled “Creating Purpose & Performance Driven Public Listed Companies (PLCs)”, is now available for download on the Bursa Malaysia website and covers the following:

• Perspectives from Malaysian investors on PLCs and the capital market landscape in Malaysia;
• Performance driven framework attributes; and
• Performance driven framework enablers.
